Oh, The Days is a full service event design and coordination company based in New England that offers a wide variety of services. The company gets its name from the phrase “Oh, the days when…” which is often said by someone when referring to a happy event in the past. Oh, The Days plans and implements memorable weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, showers and any kind of celebration.
Webnovation was approached by Oh, The Days to develop a website that was artistic, whimsical, subtle and fun. The client had a very specific vision, beginning with the logo. They wanted a logo that was playful, and specifically played on the sense of remembering what the company name conveys. They wanted the words “Oh, The Days” inside a “thought bubble” to visually convey a sense of nostalgia or recollection.
The client wanted a website visitor’s first impressions to be of a wash of sky blue, with the thought bubble at the very centre of the website. Oh, The Days wanted a navigation bar with links to About, Portfolio, Services, Contact Us, and Blog and the content and copy to be framed within a white box.
The website’s portfolio page consists of a photo gallery from some of the events that Oh, The Days has created for its clients. The gallery showcases assorted moments, close-up shots of a wedding cake, the view of the ocean as seen from the wedding ceremony, a happy couple, a bouquet of flowers. Their blog contains a mix of past work, products and other interesting things they find on the internet, as well as personal moments from the company owner Kate’s own life.
Little touches like those make their website http://www.ohthedays.com not only an extension of their business, but of the business owner’s personality, and provides visitors with an added sense of connection.
